“There is no substitute for hard work” — Thomas Edison.

Cybersecurity of an exchange is a moving target. The job is never done, and it requires constant vigilance to ensure all areas of vulnerability are covered.

Developer Shaz giving an update on the exchange platform security

Cybersecurity for our platform covers 4 key areas:

Cloud + Servers + Web Application + Network

Major TESTNET Update in the next few days

If you see your playBTC in the testnet exchange account reset to 10 playBTC in the next few days, be excited! This is due to multiple updates being rolled out from the back end and is being deployed onto TESTNET.

A system isn’t working properly unless it is tested fully.

The developers have been testing and improving upon the test coverage of the exchange platform to ensure that when the exchange goes live is it stable and secure. In addition, it has to be completed to the point where future updates are added on seamlessly during normal exchange operation.

Developer Ed giving a lecture on code testing

Many of these test runs are arranged using automated tests that stress the platform with tens of thousands of simulated users and hundreds of thousands of application messages. Other tests require the actual operation of the exchange in real time (testnet) with real traders making trades as they would. When carried out in conjunction with the coming Bug Bounty Programme, it will drastically improve the timeline to launch.

THE BUG BOUNTY PROGRAMME STARTS NEXT WEEK

3 departments will be working together to received bounty hunters interested in gaining rewards through their testing of our exchange platform. The date of launch for this is 12 February.

Bugs are rewarded based on levels of importance + on a first come first serve basis.
